Toejam and Earl

"Hey now"

submission: Toejam and Earl

I'm not sure why this has a low score - if you did in fact make it yourself (I have no reason to believe you didn't) then it's a fairly accurate and enjoyable rendition (if a bit lacking in sound quality). I loved this game though, and good for you for attempting such a difficult cover.

Good to hear some stuff from you again - you know I'm all about the classical. Very well-played and enjoyable to listen to!
I gave an extra point because you actually played it with tempo change.

Listen, I know how tricky it can be to get every note right in a score like this, and it seems like you did -- all your notes seemed spot-on. It was recognizable and accurate.

However, you have to understand that there's more to making songs than just accurately rendering notes with an instrument. I don't know what program you're using, but when you've got the song down as accurately as you have, it's really a shame not to add drums, bass, get the proper tempo and instrumentation and maybe even add an original bit of your own.

So kudos for getting the notes right, but it really wasn't very enjoyable to listen to past that. I think you should keep at it though, as you clearly have a very good ear.

Hey man, this was extremely creative and well-written. The lead was a little annoying, but the chord stucture was nuts. The chord change at 0:30 was great.
Awesome job overall!

Author's Response:

"Lovely"

date: March 20, 2007

This is a very lovely tune, quickshot. The bell was a nice touch. What program are you using? Your strings sound great.

Keep up the good work, man!

Author's Response:

Thankyou my friend, I pretty much use a (Parsee) system, created in India, and used by my father. When I turned "12" he finnaly taught me the basics of musical theory, the rest I learned on my own, well had to...He's a busy man you know. Thankyou for your review. :)
