Hey...

I have to agree with the other reviewer - your composition is very well done, but your sound quality is a bit midi-ish (the hat, in particular). In my opinion, it's the composition that's more difficult to get a handle on anyways, but even so; the same goes for your twinrova song. The song was very cleverly arranged (parallel fifths AHHHH), but it sounds kinda cheesy without effects and mastering.

Keep it up, crack-pot. I really enjoyed your stuff.

Crack-Pot responds:

Thanks for the advise! :)

Oh-so-mellow

I love your laid-back jazzy stuff, cheezman. You really do a great job with your stereo enhancement - what mastering system are you using here?

In any case, it came through great on my speakers. Loved the bass.
Keep it up my friend!

Cheez-R-Us responds:

For this one I used an Exciter (software) and extreme panning between delay, reverb and the actual sound. Seems like it worked out then. Thanks for your review!

Great job!

Hey, this is very smooth and well put-together. You got exactly the feeling you were going for with your synth sound - I loved it!

Keep up the good work!

caffeinerush responds:

Thanks for the review! :)

Fan-bloody-tastic!

Not only did you get a dead-on cover, but the parts you added were fascinating and pleasant to listen to. Great bass sound .. KILLER bass sound. :-)

Loved it - keep up the good work! You've got one of the only pop submissions rated above mine on newgrounds, but I'm still giving you...

"Thanks for your vote, JackieChan726! You voted 5 for "Axel-F 2007" - Reason3.0, raising its score from 4.67 to 4.75."

XayberOptix responds:

I'm glad you enjoyed this "remake" of the classic song. The little additions came from brainstorming and experimenting with the Combinator in Reason 3.0. It's funny that I still watch the movie because of this song. hehehe. Thanks for listening and taking time to write a review.

Excellent!

Hey, the sound quality might not be fantastic, but you did this song pretty perfectly. I haven't played the game since I was about 10, and every note of it comes back with your song.

Fascinating choice of video game songs here - it's why I gave you a relatively high originality score for a cover.
I really like your selection here, but it should be said that your technique needs a little work. I might suggest in this song that you don't hold the lower notes in each measure for so long - this will eliminate dissonance with their strong overtones as you move through measure to measure.

I respect your good ear and composition more than I respect technique, anyways. Keep up the good work!

DarkValentine responds:

Thank you, alot of tones and music samples from game music nowadays tends to forget some of the older classics and such of that type of style.

My idea is to keep it in a more or less smooth sence, while trying to keep it's originality in tact.

Insaaane!

This cover is fantastic!

The hyperactive drums were very well-chosen. The subtle dance kick complemented the bass well in the first half, and I loved that you wrote your own parts and insterted them into the song. Since it's a song everyone's heard before, it does tend to get dry, otherwise.

That little piano part in the middle would sound great with some reverb and a velocity envelope behind it.

Very underrated song. Keep up the good work.

DJ-Mann responds:

wow, u pealed my song apart and found out exactly what i added on purpose..

i know my song is under-rated because all these 0 voters hate it when their song isn't on the top.

i guess nobody listen half way through my song for my favorite part.

im glad u liked it..

Cheers

This had the potential to be very boring and annoying, but you kept it just diverse enough. It ended up being very catchy; I liked the voices and the bassline change. Your sound quality could have been better, but then, it could have been much worse, too.

Great piece. Keep up the good work, guy!

Dj-Powerstorm responds:

Right. I don't know if i'm going to take that as a compliment or an insult. But thnx 4 the review.

How fantastic!

I'm such a sucker for orchestral compositions. Every instrument sounds incredible, and your chord changes kept me entertained.

EXCELLENT work, maestro. Bravisimo!

DavidOrr responds:

Wow, glad you liked the piece!

Great rhythm

This is dance-beat-tastic!

Little else to say - it's a jam. This is kind of a crappy review, I suppose, but the song was really very simple. I enjoyed it very much.

Keep up the good work, friend.

snayk responds:

I'm glad you liked it. I really didn't expect anyone to get much out of this song.

It's VERY repetitive and (in my opinion) slightly annoying. However, I love the ending and am glad you enjoyed this track.

You may be one of the only people who will actually recognize "killkill" as a jam, which really is all it is.

Thanks for the review!

Fantastic

You know what would be great? If you took your first little meoldic phrase and went major with it after a couple of repetitions. Just an idea that popped into my head after hearing this - I'm a composition nerd.

Again, this song impresses me with its diversity. I think you're a very underrated author, and it's probably because people don't have the attention-span to listen to your songs all the way through. I wish certainly wish they'd bother to sit through MINE a bit more often.

The first melodic phrase in this song is so simple, yet very key. You are very good at writing in your element - that is, you seem to have the whole industrial-techno thing down pat.

Again, keep it up. Your consistency is the most impressive thing about your work.

Sebby64 responds:

Thanks again, all your revews have cheered me up.
